曾經出演《玩命關頭9》的美國男星約翰希南（John Cena）日前在接受臺媒採訪時稱，「臺灣將是第一個看到玩命關頭的『國家』」，引發大陸網友不滿，他25日緊急在微博上以中文錄製影片道歉，不但稱自己的中文名是「趙喜娜」，還一再強調「（指採訪）我有一個錯誤，我愛、更尊重中國跟中國人」，希望能借此滅火。不過美國網友則在推特建立「#TaiwanIsACountry」的Hashtag聲援臺灣，不少名人也紛紛響應支持。

約翰希南風波引起大陸網友暴動，爲此他更主動以中文錄製影片道歉，希望能平息風波，不僅如此，甚至在影片中大喊自己「愛中國與中國人」，表示自己稱臺灣爲國家「只是一個錯誤」。此舉引發美國網友不滿，並在推特發起「#TaiwanIsACountry」的Hashtag運動來力挺臺灣，並提到「沒有人需要爲了稱臺灣是國家而道歉」，有許多名人都發文響應。
